Balancing Acts, Surfing, and Nostalgia

So, unfortunately this year a trip to South America was out of the cards for me. Ski racing is a finical balancing act at times and with the steep traveling, training, and lodging costs I was unable to warrant going down there for a few weeks of training. It is a serious bummer not to get on snow again while my team is ripping around but it has given me renewed focus in the gym to really push myself to yet another level of physical fitness. So watch out boys! While you are running gates I’ll be tearing around the Green Mountains looking forward to Colorado in November!

Rain, rain, go away

My team left this weekend for Chile so I decided to get away myself. Me and a few friends headed to New Hampshire and Maine for a little surf trip. Living out of the back of our cars, washing ourselves in the ocean and nothing but boardwalk food. Yeah, we smelled a little bit but hey, we had the time of our lives. I wouldn’t have rather been anywhere else this weekend than on that trip with great friends and even better memories. See, who needs Chile???

All in all I am still a little bummed about not making the trip with my teammates and friends but I am confident that I can make up for lost time on snow by heading out to Colorado around the 1st of November and getting some really focused training in. Until then I plan on preparing my body and head as best as I can.
